Frequently Asked Questions

2010 Season

How’s the season going to be handled this year? This season is going to be a little different than past seasons:

  • The entire season will last for all of 2010 with a “Spring Ball” season and a full 7-game season played in the Fall.

  • We’re going to conduct a draft in the Spring for teams that will play together all year long.

Will I play with the same team throughout the year?

You betcha! Remember how well you were playing at the end of last season?

We believe that teams play better when players are able stick together on the same team.

Will there be a Spring season?

  • You betcha! But it is going to be more like a “preseason” with a tournament at the end.

  • Think of it as Spring Ball in college football, but with games.

  • This is your opportunity to experiment with new positions, get comfortable with your teammates, and above all to have FUN!

What’s the schedule for the Spring? (Schedule may change due to field availability and rain/snow outs)

  • Skills Clinic #1 & QB combine:  Sunday March 21, 1:00 - 3:00
  • Skills Clinic #2: Sunday March 28, 1:00 - 3:00
  • Game #1: Sunday April 25, 10:00 - 4:00
  • Game #2: Sunday May 2, 10:00 - 4:00
  • Game #3: Sunday May 16, 10:00 - 4:00
  • Playoffs – 1st Round: Sunday May 23, 10:00 - 4:00
  • Quarterfinals: Sunday June 6, 10:00 - 4:00
  • Semifinals and Championships: Sunday June 13, 10:00 - 4:00

Is the skills clinic mandatory for all players?

  • Yes, even for returning players.  You may attend either skills clinic, but quarterbacks must attend the one held on March 21st.

  • We have some practice tips that we want to emphasize for returning players, so everyone must attend one of the skills clinics.

What’s this QB combine?

  • Quarterbacks are an important part of the team. We feel it is important for captains to know who they are drafting and see what they got.

  • If you want to play quarterback you will be identified in the draft. The combine is a chance for captains to evaluate the quarterbacks.

Does this mean that all players will be identified in the draft?

  • No way. Just the quarterbacks.

  • All other players will be drafted anonymously and based on the questions that you answered when you registered.

How many games will we play in the Fall?

We are going to have a full 7-game season, beginning August 22nd and ending with a season ending tournament during the weekend of October 23 & 24.

Why aren’t we going to have a full Spring Season?

It’s not nice to mess with Mother Nature … Remember last year? We’re hoping that by doing it this way we’re going to avoid the problems with the weather and at the same time have a season that is focused more on experimentation where you can have FUN while still sharpening your skills.

If I don’t play in the Spring, can I still play in the Fall?

  • Most likely . . . We currently have limited capacity for a set number of teams.  If we don’t fill up in the Spring or some players drop off between the Spring and Fall seasons, then you will likely have a chance to join a team in the Fall.  We will have a fair system to place new players and free agents on teams in the Fall.

  • The way to ensure that you are on a team in the Fall is to join now for the entire year!

How’s the draft going to be handled?

  • Team parity is a priority for this league.

  • Everyone, except for quarterbacks, will be drafted anonymously according to the answers that they submitted during registration.

  • No one should feel like they were chosen last or based on the popularity of other players.  Come to play and have FUN!!

Will there be a limit on the number of players?

  • Yes. The league has grown each of the past three seasons.  We feel that there will be a lot of new players who are interested in joining.

  • Register early to ensure your spot on a team!

Why aren’t we going to re-draft in the Fall?

  • Teams play better when they have a chance to play together.

  • This new format will allow teams to play together throughout the entire year.  You may also get together during the summer and work on skills or scrimmage other teams.
You’ll see, it’ll be FUN and you’ll play better as a team!

At the end of Spring Ball will I be able to switch teams?

Yes. If you want to switch teams you can declare yourself a free agent. It’s purely the player’s decision and no team will be allowed to kick a player off of the team.

How is the free agent draft going to be handled?

  • We will have a fair draft to assign free agents and new players who join in the Fall to be placed on teams that lose players, or on a newly added team.

  • There will be a nominal charge for free agents switching teams to cover the cost of your fabulous new jersey.

  • New players joining in the Fall must pay $75.

How much is all this going to cost?

  • Players who register for the entire year pay a flat fee of $95. Registration closes March 15.

  • Early registration will be held from Feb. 22 – March 8 for $85.

  • Spring Ball only will cost $50.  If you join in the Fall the cost is $75.

  • Join now for the whole season and save $30!  Register early and save more!

When do I find out what team I’m playing on?

The draft party will be held in late March or early April.

Will there be pink jerseys this year?

That’s a secret.

Can I sponsor a team?

  • You betcha! Team sponsorships are going for $750/team. If you bring in a team sponsor your registration is free!

  • We will also be offering the MVP sponsorship again this year to allow you to support the league at an amount that you set.  Become an MVP sponsor today and get a special badge printed on your jersey.
